I love the kids section at Barnes and Noble. It’s so kid-friendly and just feels ripe for learning! The Thomas the Tank Engine play table is perfect for the little ones (and even some of the big ones!) and then my older ones love to play on the stage or read books with me. It’s a great free rainy day activity. A reward for my kids is to buy a bagel at the cafe.

First Words at the Aquarium
April 10, 2007I read this adorable Curious George book the other day with my daughter. First Words at the Aquarium supplies the cutest pictures and the vocabulary that a 17-month-old tends to be interested in! She actually giggled at some of the pictures. It made me think about taking a trip to a nearby aquarium products store and letting her look at the fish and turtles and such in real life. And, it would be free!
