This Friday afternoon I am taking the beautiful three hour drive back to my college to be a supporting alumni, and to have a blast with some of my old buddies. We are all staying at one house, of whom their spouse is away, and so play we will! I look forward to getting away from the world of junior high kids for a while, to see the fall leaves on the country roads, and to relive the “glory days” of college. Indiana is SO beautiful in the fall, so that will be nice too. Now, if only my ipod wasn’t busted….three hours of listening to the only stations that you can pick up in Indiana…country and worse isn’t going to be great. Thank God my aunt had the wisdom to buy me a 4 year warranty when she bought that thing!

friends in town
October 3, 2006Some of my friends from Texas just moved into town, and I suggested that they buy a Cincinnati condominium for sale that I read in the paper. However, they didn’t listen, and are renting a home in Northern Kentucky instead. I never know how I fall in to the fight between renting and owning. I personally never stick around anywhere long enough for it to make sense for me to buy a home, but on the other hand, I also hate the fact that I am not putting my money into anything long term, but instead I’m just pouring it into a big hole just to make ends meet temporarily. It wouldn’t be so bad to make some money off of something after investing in it for a while! My car is old, so I just pour money into that too, knowing I will have no pay off. It is sort of sad, and makes me want to move into the woods and live in a tent. A rent-free tent.
